I really enjoy creating on a huge canvas. Standing in front of a virgin black square just before I begin drawing is like standing in front of a massive, ancient, closed gate; a silent gate. A gate you know from legends of a far distant past. No one knows exactly where these tales came from, but they are there, and we feel their intriguing, timeless truths passed down through thousands of generations, legends from far behind the curtain of our known history.
The black color of the prepared canvas has a strange pulling effect. Black absorbs all colors, and I feel it pulling and calling on me too.
My drawing pen and brush are the keys to unlock this magical gate. I feel excited, blissful, and deeply honored. A profound sense of gratitude washes over me each time-realizing that I can be of service to so many people, not only the people of today but also those yet to be born, knowing that they can enjoy and benefit from this opened portal. I feel a short, warm shiver running through my body. My right hand is glowing. I’m ready to open this gate.
