“I draw every day. I am deeply committed to it. I draw on anything I can find; an old envelope lying around, a piece of scrap paper, or a sheet of fine drawing paper. It doesn’t matter.
It’s so powerful, so essential, to let it flow. The result doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to become a masterpiece. Sometimes it does, but not always. That’s not the point. This is a release. And it’s deeply satisfying to see the image unfold quickly in front of you. A fragment of a gate opens. A detail from another realm becomes visible; right there, on the paper, in real time.
You are the director. The scene is unfolding in front of you, instantly. Fast.
No matter where you are, no matter what surface you use; it happens.
It’s also powerful because of the scale. It’s small. The space is reduced to the minimum.
These daily drawings are vital, not only because they sharpen your skills, but more importantly, because they let you discover new forms, new imagery that suddenly appear out of nowhere.
You can dive into them quickly. You feel it in your hand. You’re tapping into a frequency. You keep going, keep drawing, deeper and deeper into the flow. One drawing after another, fast but profound. So satisfying.
And it’s just on a piece of paper, not a canvas, not expensive paint, not a full studio setup. None of that is needed.
I always carry pens with me. For me, the best combination is three: one thick, one very thin, and one in between. This trio creates something magical in my work. But if I don’t have them, even a simple writing pen will do. In truth, it doesn’t matter. It’s about the release. The flow. About opening worlds; wherever, whenever, on whatever you choose.
You should do this too.
Don’t hesitate. Don’t hold yourself back, thinking you need this tool or that surface. Just let it flow. Enjoy the process. If you don’t like what you made, turn the page, find another sheet; the next one might be the one that speaks. It’s not about the final result. It’s about the story you’re creating in front of you. It’s about being present in the act of making. The play. The film that unfolds with every line. And with each stroke, you change the story.
Enjoy it. If you don’t like it, make another.
Like changing a channel when a drama doesn’t hold you, but here, you’re creating the shows yourself.
Stop reading.
Start releasing the flow.
You are the director.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign; this is it!”

看着画面在我眼前逐渐鲜活起来,是一种奇妙的体验。但当我用彩铅添上金色,深度忽然浮现的那一刻,却是整个创作过程中我最钟爱的部分。我真心享受这一创作时刻。

“Watching the image come alive as I draw right before my eyes is magical.
But the moment depth suddenly begins to emerge as I add gold with my watercolor pencil is one of my favorite parts of the process. I truly enjoy this moment in creation.”

一笔。一线。一笔流畅的笔触,无论是毛笔还是钢笔。它揭示了现实的魔力与运作机制的诸多奥秘。这类画作正是我最钟爱的, 仅凭一笔,便能唤起丰富的意象、情感与联想。

“One stroke. One line. One flowing brush or pen stroke. It reveals so much on how the magic and mechanism of reality works. These kind of drawings are my favourite. One stroke that brings out so much imagery, feelings and connotations.”
